Nightshift
A night-vision-themed toro that landed at No. 18 on halfwheel's 2024 Top 25, candela cap and all.
$11.75
Night Shift is built for the people who keep working after everybody else clocks out. An Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper covers an Indonesian binder and Nicaraguan long filler, giving a medium smoke with pepper, leather, citrus, dark fruit, and earth. The small Candela ring at the cap nods to night vision optics without turning it into a gimmick. Enough edge to feel serious, enough balance to smoke easy.

Tasting notes
Night Shift opens with dry wood, black pepper, and wheat toast, then reveals a creaminess that most habano oscuro cigars never bother to show. The candela ring at the cap adds a faint green, grassy edge, closer to green tea and fresh-cut hay, that keeps the profile distinctive without turning gimmicky. Retrohales run peppery with a touch of chalk and mineral, while cocoa and cedar round out a smooth finish. It stays medium-bodied and balanced, the rare tribute cigar that actually earned its acclaim.
